There is a show which I saw a commercial for recently called ‘My Name is Earl.’ It is about a man who has made a list of all the terrible things he has done in his life and he is attempting to make reparations and apologize to those people so he can cross it off his list. Sadly, though it probably makes the show a lot more entertaining, the commercial made it look like the attempts to apologize often went awry and required further apologies before being able to cross the item off the list. The commercial showed a lot of different settings such as elementary schools, construction sites and parks. There is something a little disconcerting about the typical image of a butcher in his white apron eyeing the sides of meat while holding a large butcher knife in one hand.
